Ivor Frederick Wentworth Schofield, CMG (1957) ED (1943), was born on the 5 July 1904. He was educated at King's School in Worcester and Hertford College, Oxford. In 1927 Schofield joined the Colonial Administrative Service as a cadet in Nigeria, later serving as Resident (1949) and Administrative Officer, Staff Grade, in the Western Region (1954).
